2018 Shiraz Mollyhooker

Often, I pick a wine off the shelf because of its producer. “The Boxer” was recognizable; I’ve enjoyed some of their other varietals. The’18 Mollyhooker is their left-handed red wine, which was disappointing. The pour looked good with great deep red color and hefty legs. But the tasting lost me. It began as sour and ended as sour. Not to waste it, we will use this one as a cooking wine. It’s robust taste and color will enhance a beef roast as well as making a homemade red wine gravy, which kicks up a smooth texture.
