2019 Sauvignon Blanc Josh Cellars
Wine lovers expect a California Sauvignon Blanc to speak up: “talk to me, baby”. Josh’s North Coast sav. blnc wouldn’t josh around. It was dull, rather than playful. Even more, I found it rather flat; a non-distinct drink. After two attempts, I sat the bottle aside.
What I expect from a quality Sauvignon Blanc is crispy fruit tastes like green apple, ripe pear. lemon, all mixed with green grass. An earthy, herbal nose helps along with clear light-yellow color hues: a fun light white wine with character.
Josh Cellars contained little of these. It missed the up-front aromas and distinctive nuances. The color showed almost clear white & without legs. For me, it was a disappointing wine tasting.
