2016 Sauvignon Blanc Route Stock Winery

“Route Stock” is a catchy title for a label as well as for the winery, because CA.’s Route 29 runs the length of Napa Valley. This wine growing area has been one of the world’s premier American Viticulturally Areas (AVA). This Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc was easy to enjoy. It’s nose was fruity. Tastings found green apple, light lemon along with granite & minerals. It’s finishing was smooth without harsh tannin. The pour was light golden with skinny legs. And the wine has a clear glass bottle for the buyer to see into the wine. There was a screw-top cap…. which is O.K. (& I much prefer the newer, improved screw caps to any yucky plastic stopper. This one doesn’t need decanting; it’s a summer wine ready for muggy days, or for casual conversations. Served it well chilled at lunch or dinner. Pair it with cheeses, fresh salads, green vegetables, sea foods, or baked herb chicken.
