2015 Munson Report Vox Vineyards

“Any Port in a storm” works for Port lovers. FYI: Port wines do not climb high up my wine trellis, but I believe a Port lover would enjoy this wild vine rendition. It’s a young Ruby Port with that deep ruby-red color. Nice legs cling to the glass. It’s a reasonable bet that this young Missouri winery did not follow the Portuguese tradition of grape foot treading. Because it is a young Port, there is no need to decant it for sediments. Munson Report is a dessert wine. Dessert wines are sweet wines, usually fortified with brandy. Ports get served after the dinner, matched with other desserts. What makes this Port unique is produced from American Heritage varietals. Its grapes come from some 27- species. This Teravox Port melds flavor of ripened raspberry, cocoa, linden bark, and cane sugar. The bottle comes with a genuine cork, which allows the buyer to nest it in a wine cellar. Guests will enjoy sipping after dinner, matched with some cheesecake, or chocolate truffles, and even coffee ice cream.
