2016 Chardonnay Tretino Cantina Lavis

Oh, Chardonnay, my Chardonnay, Can you fill my glass & make me stay? This ’16 Chard is an “estate bottled” Italian wine. These grapes were grown at the foot of the Italian Alps. The Trentino subregion is known for quality wines. The label, also, adds it is a “handcrafted wine” by the Lavis Families. How was my hand-holding with this Italian Chard? It was surprisingly light, compared to the heavy oak in many Chards. The nose was an earthy green grass. It had very weak legs, but a clear light golden color. Further tasting gave up green apple with a floral hint of sweet pea. There was a nice finish without so much oak tannin. It’s a good “drink-it-now” wine. Plus, this Chard fits any warm summer’s day. ( Maybe not a Shakespeare’s Mid-Summer’s Night Dream.) The “bottom Lion” gives it good ratings:
