2020 Dry Rose Seven Hills Winery

The varietal is Cab Franc, assuring the wine is dry and sugarless. Drinking this Rose as summer wine, or a sipping wine seems too drab. But its application with Cab Franc opens a wider range of food pairings: red meat, pink meat, white meat, cheeses, soups and salads. It’s a winner when served very cold with a meal.

Taste=2: The nose is citric. First taste has its dry and smooth hitting at the same time. The up-front herbal taste melds into a lime with a bit of berry. There is no confusion; it is not a fruity wine. It finishes smooth and alive.

Looks= 2: The bottle’s twist off cap, as well as clear glass bottle, shows the buyer it is a “drink-it-now” Rose. The color has a hint of red, pouring pale peach (without that taste). Its alcohol content is 12.5% of volume, or a light wine. Seven Hills Winery prints a full disclosure label; if the buyer reads it, then the buyer understands the content.

Cost=1: A good buy for a good Cab Franc Rose.
