2018 Heritage Red Vox Vineyards
Vox vineyard is a young vineyard new Kansas City, MO. The owner/management is introducing several new varietals into this Missouri River basin. This Heritage Red is one of the newer wines. It is a lighter and younger re wine, unlike Norton. I was sitting, enjoying a different red wine experience. While sitting there staring into the wine glass, my wife walked up. She took the half-filled glass, sniffed, tasted, and remarked, “That’s really good.” She sat the glass back onto the table and continued walking into the sitting room. This red holds a clear purple color and has fine legs. It gives off a subtle nose, a floral… a spring time sweet pea. In tasting the front end was plumb, then light milk chocolate, some raisin and then a smooth slate finish. Here is an enjoyable red wine. It is very young and of limited quantity. Vox vineyards produced only seventeen cases. It really needs aging in a cellar by a buyer.
