2017 Malbec Lionstone International Vintner

Tri-Tip Malbec is a California red wine. But it misses the zip of those high-altitude mountain Argentine Malbec wines. However, it was a good Malbec, having a robust berry taste with a grapey tannin finish. What became more interesting was the black & red label. Labels become fascinating about how each links into the wine offered. This bottle has a cow standing with an etched beef chart on its body. The etching infers food pairings of Paso Robles Malbec matches any beef cut. That probably works, but sort of limits the versatility of this red wine. However, we didn’t pair with ant food. We sipped though this ’17 Malbec, and it fit into another “ordinary wine experience”.
