2016 Ribbon Ridge Pinot Noir Willamette Valley Vineyards

Willamette Vineyards keep adding boutique vineyards to its high-quality production. Whenever I select a new Pinot Noir, I compare that bottle with their Taulatin Estate Pinot Noir. This well-established Oregon coastal vineyard consistently produces outstanding Pinot Noir: T-L-C ratings of 3-3-2. Ribbon Ridge Pinot Noir is different from Taulatin or their other estate wines. The vineyard in the Yamhill wine region, Northern Willamette Valley. It has the deep red color, fine legs, and a fruity nose. First taste is Bing cherry. Further tasting reveals more flavors such as rich cherry, leather, smoke, and cocoa. The finish is smooth of light oak. Here is a fruity, cherry Pinot Noir, which differs from that traditional varietal. I liked it, and enjoyed the whole bottle. Make no mistake, this is not a dessert wine. Serve it anytime at lunch or dinner. However, it won’t work will with smoked B-B Que, spicy chili or burritos. Guests at a party would enjoy its lighter flavors. This Pinot is perfect for sipping while watching a T.V. show.
