2017 White Pinot Noir Willamette Valley Vineyards

Deliciously sinful! …& squeezed just right. When first tasting this wine, I recalled an out-of-print book, The Naked Ape. In 1967, a zoologist in London, England, wrote a comparative study about humans, homo sapiens, as a species…. Animals without fur; & because our bodies are void of warmth and covering, we, humans, do all sorts of crazy acts to survive. (Actually, mores presuppose our bodies should be hidden from view: Out of sight. Out of mind.) This White Pinot Noir poured too easy into my Riedel glass. The nose was a seductive apple. The first taste was green apple, and this became McIntosh apple. Reluctantly, I offered some to my wife. After her first taste, she moved the bottle closer to her side of the couch…. Girls, give ‘em a glass & they’ll take the whole thing. We liked the clear color and its long legs. Together, we found almond, mineral/granite, and this bottle finished really, smooth. The wine made a fun evening. The Naked Ape reminded me of Eve in the Garden of Eden. Standing in the nude, some old guy came by with a chilled bottle of White Pinot Noir. He held two empty crystal wine glasses. He stood there, poured White Pinot Noir into the glasses. Handing one stem to Eve, he smilingly winked, “Try this. It will change your world”. This White Pinot Noir is an unusual and versatile white wine. The grapes went through a special application: light crushing, fermented in cement vats, and later transferred for final processing. It is a fine wine to drink for pleasure, gift it during the Holidays, serve it with fish, fowl, or fajitas. Place some in your cellar, because it has a real cork for longer shelf life.
