2015 Merlot Revelry Wines

How much fun is to revel in Merlots? Well, I like to REVEL anytime it’s possible. Even in lots of stuff that’s not wine. It’s a hoot to get caught up in reveling, which differs for reviling, revealing, or ritualized. Staying on the wines side of Revelry is an E-Z path. This Merlot comes out of that great Columbia Valley near Walla Walla, WA. It’s a blend: 95% Merlot with a 5% dash of Cabernet Sauvignon added. The blend switches away the usual Merlot taste, and does this cause a different revelry? The blend caused a thinner wine than just Merlot, and the color isn’t as deep of red. Its legs are great, reveling around the glass. The nose was spicy fruit. Its first taste was not Merlot, but currant. Later, blackberry along with cherry kicked in. Further drinking (or reveling) found dark chocolate along with spices. This finish was light oak, rather than heavy tannin Cab. Sav. I enjoyed this Washington State Merlot; it’s one to drink now. And wherever any Merlot goes, Revelry Merlot can hold hands.
