Chandon Sparkling California Rose'

The summer of 2019 is washed in Rose'. It is the bell bottoms of the day. How do these popular waves form? Did a Kardashian pose with a pink filled stem? Is there a marketing cabal that decreed, "Rose'?" Did a new process reveal a wider profit margin? I will never figure that out, but I will drink some in an effort to be hip. (Do they still use that word?)

You can actually find $300 bottles of Rose'. The Chandon Sparkling Rose' only weighs in at $20.

Traditionally, Rose' gets its color from leaving the dark grape skin in the juice until it turns a shade of pink. The Chandon achieves pink by adding a bit of Pinot Noir at the end of the process. It isn't cheating if there are no rules.

It is pretty in the glass. The bubbles tease your eyes, nose and taste buds. The hint of strawberry in a cold bubbly sip is a good answer to this summer's heat. It would be perfect with sushi, but I chose to pair it with nothing but the air conditioner. I dare you to tell me that was a bad choice.
