2016 Petite Sirah Line 39 Wines

Will this wine cross the line? The 39th parallel runs across Northern California about 50 miles South of the Oregon Border. And Southern Oregon produces really good wines. This bottle was a gift for Father’s Day. The bottle has an intriguing number label. Plus, someone stuck a sticker, “Top Brand Winner” by Wine and Spirits Magazine; the magazine’s office is in New York, NY. It seems wine makers send their wines there from tastings & ratings. So, a panel of wine tasters in NY, NY tasted this ’16 Petite Sirah, and then gave their rating score . But the Top Brand label isn;t one of their scores.. The panel uses the familiar 100 point rating scale, dropping to 84 points. No where is “Top Brand” mentioned on the web site. Any 39 is a good number. But for Father’s Day, maybe a petite 69 would been more starling. In terms of numerology, Line # 39 = 12, which reduced to 3. A # 3 person walks down their life path with creativity, communication, charismatic, and a natural rhythm. Whereas # 69, in numerology, = 15; # 15 reduces to 6, and # 6” is associated with harmony and balance: a petite 69 exactly. Anyway, this California wine is not an estate wine. It is a good Petite Sirah, with some nuance: red cherry, smoke, and a lemony tannin finish. It has a swell ruby red color; legs cling to glass. It comes with a composition cork, which makes it a drink-it-now wine. This is wine for watching murder mysteries: 39 steps; The Cat o’ Nine Tails, The Taking of Pelham One Two Three ,Two for the Money, Seven, Thr3e, Fantastic Four, Ocean's 11, and so on.
