2009 Petite Sirah Zichichi Family Vineyard

It sat patiently in the bottle for 10 years waiting for its time. When I pulled the cork, a black cherry genie filled the room. Seriously, the fruit smell filled the air around me. That is an unusual experience. The unexpected can raise your expectations.

I was not disappointed. The black cherry fairy enchanted me to the bottom of the glass.

It was not that pretty to look at. It was so dark, I couldn't see through it. It was red on the edges of a black glass of flavor.

It had strong legs so it felt great in my mouth. I could feel the tannins on the back of my tongue, but nowhere else. I could appreciate the mild acidity that enhanced the zing of that black cherry magic.

This was a tasty glass that can't be found again. There is a special pleasure in that. The black cherry genie granted my wishes of taste and rarity. My final wish was to free the genie to find another bottle. The search begins anew.
