2016 Whole Cluster Pinot Noir Willamette Valley Vineyards

This WVV’s Whole Cluster Pinot Noir is our house wine, and is since the 1990’s. Their Whole Cluster is consistently high quality, a unique Pinot Noir. Worth noting, some years are stellar: 1998, 2004, 2008, and probably their ’16 is another one. The nose is traditional barnyard, but fresh alfalfa hay. First taste is blackberry, raisin, and then spice. It finishes with a smooth tannin of dark chocolate…. Great color with full legs. Of note: when anyone has a bottle, there are two different possible outcomes--- chill to 61° or serve at room temp. Either yields different tastes. General info: order directly from the vineyard… usually not available on store shelves. From experience, Whole Cluster works fine during football games, fall and winter gatherings. Recommendation: get a case for personal enjoyment.
