2015 4 Portugal reds/blend Stones & Bones Winery

The wine maker said Stones& Bones wines come from a “Jurassic Landscape”. It is a region in Southern Portugal among limestone boulders. Four different Portuguese varietals are combined to make this wine: Tougias Nacional, Tina Rosa, Syrah, and Alicante Bouschet… O.K., I only recognized two reds, Syrah and Alicante Bouschet. The label has a picture which looks like a Christmas wreath, but must be a ring of stones. Of course, the Stones is a seize and try-it-now experience waiting to happen… “sticks and stones may break my bones, while stones and bones pour red. Now, about this ’15 blend of Portuguese reds: the nose is fruity, mulberry/blackberry. It has great legs as well as a deep red color. Tasting has blackberry, vanilla. milk chocolate with a smooth cedar finish. At this low price, there is a composition cork. The 4 red blend is definitely a drink-it-now, not one to cellar for keeping. It fits with any hearty meal. Also, I would not recommend it as a gift, but uncork this fun wine with friends for fun.
