2019 Rose Château d'Esclan Estate

Rose is sort of an in-between wine. Something fell astray, leaving this Rose is between a rock and a hard place. The wine comes from the Cotes De Provence of France. Whispering Angel is another innovative Rose wine technique used by winemaker Sacha Lichine. Since 2006, he has been trying to revolutionize the styles of Rose wines in this province.

People have different expectations about wines, and this Rose causes contesting reviews. Several different reviews rate this as high as 91 points, which seems their angelic blessing. Because I enjoy richer and tastier French Rose wines, the T-L-C ratings differ markedly:

Taste=1: Pouring this '19 Rose was close to pouring colored water with a lemony taste. It has a mineral, no tannin finish.

Looks=2: I liked their clear glass bottle with its embossed shield. The color was a very pale yellow; small, skinny legs could hardly cling to the glass. Their labeling is puzzling, because the identifying “Rose” was printed in teeny #9 font: Rose.

Cost=1: I wasn’t expecting much at this low price point. So, it's just another unremarkable wine.
