2017 Rose Miraval Vineyard
For this Thanksgiving, we wanted a different wine to serve with the Turkey and stuff. Switching from traditional white, we went with a French Rose. From limited past experiences with Rose, we expected a dry Rose from France. It was produced in on of the largest regions, Cotes de Provence. Since we were hosting so many guests, we got the big jug. Unfortunately, this Rose proved totally wrong for Thanksgiving. It was a sweet wine that fit better with dessert. A dry Rose was would have been fun to try paring with all those heaped Thanksgiving calories. Lesson learned: Drink Rose wines on warm summer evenings.
