2017 Chardonnay Viognier Cooper's Hawk

Cooper's Hawk is a restaurant chain. So let's start with that. They have about 30 locations. I have been to the farthest western store front, Kansas City, Mo. They bill themselves as "upscale casual." I think that means, we are pretty expensive, but you don't have dress up. They have their own wine label, Cooper's Hawk. (Duh, sorry) You don't have to go there to drink it. They have on-line orders. They even have a wine club. I had the Chardonnay Viognier. I think it was a 2017, but no date was on the bottle. Their website says they sell California wines. The label on the bottles says it is American wine from the "top vineyards" in the country. But it is "vinted and bottled" in Countryside, Illinois. So, who knows? The 66% Chardonnay, 34% Viognier was delicious. I was expecting a woody Chardonnay. It was unoaked and fruity. Apple. Maybe pear. Then Apple. Not too sweet. Not too tangy. Under $20. If that was a dating site profile it would get a lot of "likes."
