2014 Syrah Santa Barbara Winery

This Syrah is a blend of Syrah grapes from the Santa Ynez Valley. It is not an estate bottle; the winery corked with a plastic stopper. It’s a Syrah that should have got away.

The wine has a floral, clove, nose. Its color is a deep red with legs. First taste is an eye opener: citric of sour grapes and heavy lemon rind. The finish is light oak tannin. This ’14 California wine lacks the qualities of fine Syrah, fruitiness, pepper, or fresh aromas, etc.
