2015 Merlot Francis Ford Coppola Winery

The label read “Enchanting Merlot” from the Wizard of Oz. I’m guessing its painted label advertisement meant it as a collectable. “Somewhere over the rainbow” there is a great merlot. But this isn’t one of them. The nose is similar to the Scarecrow’s wet hay-hair: musty. The color is a weak red with teeny short legs. First taste is very dry, parched like the Tinman’s gloves. That dryness followed all the way to the finish. I kept expecting some semblance of Toto; thankfully none swallowed. This Merlot isn’t an estate wine. It is a Merlot combo from different vineyards. The bottle, along with its painting, comes uses an artificial cork… I recommend seeking a different Merlot.
