2012 Red Rioja Vina Real Vineyard

Know that I am terrible with numbers. One example is my checkbook: if my numbers run between $49-$149 of the bank’s amount, then it is a “balanced checkbook”. To wit: this bottle of 2012 Rioja Reserve has a rating of 92. Of course, that is a high ranking, befitting an outstanding wine. But this Rioja is a blend of Tempranillo grapes from various vineyards; it is not an estate bottle. The nose is floral. First taste is tobacco, then mineral, followed by plum… a combination that didn’t added up. Its finish is heavy oak, very dry. The color is a deep, rich red with full legs. The vintner used a genuine cork. Now return to actual numbers. As long as my check book has enough numbers, writing checks is O.K. Even this # 92 is O.K. if you like the wine. However, our 3 dimensional Dashboard numbers provide a more in-depth experience: Taste: heavy& dry= 1 Looks: body, color, legs, bottle & design, plus genuine cork= 3 Cost: price per bottle is less than $25= 1
