2012 Pinot Noir Tualatin Estate Vineyard
Tualatin Estate Pinot Noir is my favorite American Pinot. I’ve been buying, drinking it since the late 1990’s and greatly enjoy each vintage. This estate Pinot Noir consistently receives outstanding scores as well as wins numerous wine competitions. We first visited this boutique vineyard, we thought we stepped into paradise. We had visited several great American wineries: CA, WA, VA, etc. Taualtine Estate vineyard finds itself in a sperate category. Just drive 45 miles due West from Portland, OR to Kansas City, OR. A few miles north west this vineyard rests in one of earth’s most beautiful valleys. The grapes grow about 250- 500 ft above the Pacific. The consistent moisture and temperature produces the finest Pinot Noir fruity grapes. This 2012 is really good… But so was their 2010… and the 2015 Tualatin is outstanding. When I pull the genuine cork from a bottle, it sis one and done. My only regret is that Pinots have a relative short shelf life: 6-8 years. Any Tualatin Pinot is drink it now, store in your wine cellar, be proud to gift, or enjoy with dinner.
