2016 Lucumone Vermentino Mantellassi Vinyard

Some things are not designed to stand alone. You wouldn't wear a tie without a shirt. You wouldn't eat jelly by itself. It would be hard to appreciate this vermentino without food. It only makes sense when you consider the food from Tuscany. This light, white wine from Tuscany has the unusual balance of fruitiness while only being slightly sweet. Add a bit of acidity and you have a wonderful table wine. If you drink it by itself, it would probably be like hearing a pleasant story in Italian. It might still be enjoyable on some level, but you wouldn't really get it.
