2014 Malbec Reserve Graffigna Winery

Argentina produces some really good Malbec, especially the high mountain vineyards. It’s probably because of their gauchos, bolos, dancing, and “running with the bulls”. (…Sorry, that wild event happens in Spain.) In opening this reserve Malbec, a darned composition cork popped out; double checking, it surely was a one of those composition things. The pour went well - - a great purple color & nice legs walking around the glass. The ’14 nose was fruity, a raspberry. Other drinking was a surprise, because there was good pepper, followed by a salty grape. This Malbec finished with heavy and was quite dry. The wine would go good with heavy beef, wild boar or buffalo, and deep dish pizza. Best consumed during colder winter months.
