2015 Chardonnay Kendall-Jackson

I first began drinking wine way back in the 1990’s, and the first varietal was California Chardonnay. One of the vintners I liked was Kendall-Jackson. This December, I got a bottle of 2015 Kendall-Jackson Vintner Reserve, because it was time to revisit Chardonnay. This proved to be a not-so-good reunion with an old friend. First jaw drop was the plastic cork. Next was the pour, which turned out a pale yellow, rather than the sturdy stock of earlier vintage. Plus, there were very weak legs. The nose was fruity without that oaky smell. First taste was light pear and mineral…. Not a happy reunion.
