2015 Honoro Vera Monastrell

Here's a bottle for your wine education. Spanish wine from organic monastrell grapes. They say its hard to balance the tannin from the thick skinned black Mediterranean grapes. They say its hard to get to market because the grapes take so long to ripen. Well, the 2015 Honoro Vera got it done. Was the weather right? Was the winemaker skillful? I would like to taste more years to find out. This is not a blend, but the tannin was just right. It is a deep dark red. Light struggles to get through a big glass of it. The taste has more hay than fruit. It would only pair with steak, BBQ or the smell of your neighbor's freshly cut lawn. Buenas Noches, my new Spanish amigo.
