Marques de Riscal Rioja Reserva 2011
2011 Rioja
Reserva Marques De Riscal I saw her sitting there in lace-net stocking. She was so appealing wrapped in gold mesh. So, I reached out to take her home. I let her stay in my wine refrigerator overnight. Then, I uncorked this Reserva Rioja. I suspected a cheap date when the cork was plastic, rather than genuine cork. I poured the wine into my crystal glass, looking for legs. Yes. She had good legs, and a deep, dark red color. I always must smell, and she was musty. The nose was mineral, oak with a floral hint of rose. What I tasted didn’t suite my pallet. There was some plumb with heavy earthy tobacco/slate mixture. The second tastes weren’t too swell either, because of the oaky, bitter tannins. But if you like hearty, heavy reds, you might like this Spanish miss.
