2017 Pinot Gris Hugel & Fils
Take a bottle of Pinot Gris classic produced by a leading winery in Alsace, France. Then chill to 45 °, pop the cork, and pour its delight; it’s a white wine that smells good and tastes good. You are greeted by a fresh pear nose. It's clear color leads to ripe fruit. It has no oaky tannin, making for a smooth finish.
The fun label, having a Frenchman with a corkscrew nose, tells there is fun inside. Its genuine cork will allow for long-term storage. But I say, What the heck! “drink-it now”, because the French vineyard’s next harvest should be as good as 2017.
