2015 Red Wine Seven Hills Winery

Here’s a bold red wine. Cabernet Sauvignon lovers would be pleased with its taste and texture. Using estate grapes, the winemaker went heavy with the Cab/Sav. Of course, there is Merlot; what Columbia River red wine blend can live without it? There’s Malbec and a dash of Petit Verdot, which adds color and flavor.

Taste=3: Pour some; taste some, and know this has a Cab/Sav base. The nose is floral, much like linden tree blossoms in the Spring. Tasting unwraps several aromas of dark cherry, currant, black licorice, and an oaky, herbal finish. The wine stays on the pallet.

Looks=3: The label understates the wine: “RED WINE”. The buyer is supposed to trust this winery, and they shell out bucks for “red wine”! Heck, I can buy several red wines from many different vineyards at half this price. But if buyers knows Seven Hills Winery, we want to try their red wine.

The pour has a deep red, pure crimson wine with great legs. I found no sediments in this bottle. It comes with a genuine cork. The bottle is made of heavy dark brown glass. This combo makes for long-life to sleep in a cellar.

Cost=2: Seven Hills asks a lot for their red blend. For me, it was worth the price, but my tastes would have put the Merlot ahead of the Cab/Sav. Because of its quality, this red can pair with beef roasts, venison ( wild game dinners), or maybe Hungarian Gouloash.
